 Advantages, Disadvantages and Application of the First Generation of Anti-stripping High Aluminum Bricks
The first generation of anti-flaking bricks is made of high alumina bauxite and zircon. The material ratio is alumina: zircon = (80%~95%): (20%~5%), brick mix ratio For coarse particles: fine particles: fine powder = 1:1:1, with peach gum as a binder, after mixing and molding, firing at about 1420 °C, and then testing to obtain anti-flaking high aluminum brick. The main principle of the anti-flaking high-aluminum brick is to use the reaction of alumina and zircon in sintering (3Al2O3+2ZrSiO4=3Al2O32SiO2+2ZrO2) to improve the thermal shock resistance of the material by forming mullite and oblique zircon.
The zircon particles added have a particle diameter of 50 to 60 μm. In the firing, high alumina bauxite and zircon particles react to form mullite and oblique zircon. However, the reaction was carried out only on the surface of zircon, the core of zircon was not changed, and the thickness of the surface reaction layer was 5 to 10 μm.

The first point of the process of anti-flaking high-aluminum bricks is to control the sintering temperature and the grain size of zircon, and to produce a certain amount of oblique zircon to obtain a suitable compressive strength.

One of the reasons for the higher thermal shock resistance of the anti-flaking high alumina brick is that the high alumina bauxite reacts with the added zircon to form mullite and oblique zircon, and is caused by microcracking due to the phase transition of zirconia. The load-softening temperature delivery index of the anti-stripping brick is >1470 °C, and the soft physical index should be 1470~1500 °C. Therefore, the firing temperature of the anti-flaking high alumina brick should be controlled below 1450 °C. If the firing temperature is too high, some of the bricks in the firing will be deformed under pressure, and the brick size is difficult to control.

Another reason for the higher thermal shock resistance of the anti-flaking high-aluminum brick is that the brick has a compressive strength of only 45 MPa. Because of its low strength, it is beneficial to improve the thermal shock resistance factor.
In addition, the anti-flaking bricks contain a certain amount of ZrO2. After being eroded, a part of ZrO2 will melt in the liquid phase, increasing the viscosity of the liquid phase and delaying the erosion. Therefore, the erosion resistance of the anti-stripping bricks may be superior to that of ordinary high-alumina bricks.
The disadvantage of the first generation of anti-flaking high-aluminum bricks is that the alumina in the bricks fails to completely react with zircon due to the low sintering temperature, and the loose benefits of mullite formation are not fully released, resulting in high temperature stability of the bricks. Good, limits the use of materials under high temperature conditions. Therefore, the first generation of anti-stripping bricks have been successfully applied in the low temperature parts such as the decomposition furnace, the kiln tail chamber, the kiln decomposition zone, the kiln door cover and the hot end of the cooler in the large and medium-sized cement precalcining kiln. . However, the anti-flaking high-aluminum brick is prone to problems in the high temperature parts such as the transition zone of the cement rotary kiln and the cooling zone in the kiln.

1) The performance of the kiln skin and the stability of the kiln skin are good. It is easy to hang the kiln skin with anti-flaking high aluminum brick. The thickness is 200mm. The combination of kiln skin and brick is strong, easy to hang and not easy to fall, which is beneficial to the maintenance of kiln skin. The temperature of the kiln is basically around 300 °C. This is mainly because the Al2O3 content in the high alumina brick is as high as 80% or more, and the CaO in the clinker reacts to form C3A. The high temperature adheres to the surface of the fire brick and the fire brick combines to form a solid whole, which enhances the kiln skin and the fire brick. Binding force. This is also manifested from the kiln skin.

2) Good anti-flaking performance. When the kiln was stopped and the kiln skin was inspected, no fire cracks were found in the fire brick section. Overcoming the fault of the magnesia chrome brick on the surface of the fire brick is always 20~50mm thick, and the layer is torn off with the kiln skin falling off. To ensure that the fire brick has a long service life.

3) Strong resistance to chemical attack. When the kiln was shut down, it was found that the anti-stripping brick surface was flat and the metamorphic layer was 20-30 mm thick. The brick surface formed a thin glaze film, which made the fire brick not subject to further erosion and had strong resistance to chemical attack.
